Cells of the Pancreas




Cells that produce insulin in the pancreas located. A large number pancreas is located behind the stomach. This gland to produce the hormones, contain two different cell types are:
A type of cell called alpha and beta cells of other types.

Glycogen-producing alpha cells is, glycogen, a hormone that increases blood sugar levels. Other types of cells or beta cells, insulin-producing, which reduce blood sugar levels in normal or healthy individuals, glycogen and insulin secretion from the pancreas to the extent that outside their balance each other out.

But in people with diabetes, insulin is not enough. The result is that the body's cells caused by lack of insulin insufficiency, glucose deprived of its natural fuel, begin to experience fat to glucose as an alternative fuel. But practice makes the above ketone or acetone and acid is produced and enter the bloodstream.


And may be life-threatening. People with diabetes, for reasons not yet fully understood is often unusually, the amount of fat, cholesterol and triglycerides in their blood than too much.
